Your Customized Treatment Plan

Step 1

Congratulations! You are now on the exciting path to unlocking your smile’s full potential! On day 1 of this journey, your top braces will be installed. The doctor will provide you with information regarding care and will leave you with an overview of your specialized treatment plan. Some discomfort or pressure may be felt during this part of the treatment process as you adjust to the new sensations of your braces.

Step 2

A week has gone by and you’re ready for the 2nd step! You will be getting more acquainted with your braces so the discomfort and pressure sensations will be lessening. Any pain or discomfort can be decreased by taking ibuprofen or acetaminophen.

Step 3

A month has passed now and you will likely be accustomed to your braces including how to take care of them with an excellent brushing and flossing routine. Discomfort or pressure sensations will be gone by now and you will be ready for your bottom set soon!

Step 4

Six months have now passed and you are starting to see some big smile changes! Your teeth have moved significantly and are trending toward correct alignment. 2-3 wire adjustments will have occurred by this point, but you will be so familiar with your braces by now that pain and discomfort will be minimal. Properly caring for your braces by brushing and flossing after every meal is an important part of this stage.

Step 5

A year has passed now and you’re seeing some great changes to how straight your teeth are! Straight teeth are just one part of a happy and healthy smile though. Aligning your bite through the use of elastics and springs may be required at this stage.

Step 6

Your smile journey is almost complete but this last step may be the most important! It’s been somewhere between a year and a half and two years but continuing to properly care for your braces is imperative. Your experienced doctor will make small but meaningful changes during this stage to help you reach every one of your smile goals.
