Smile Confidently With Clear, Removable Aligners
Clear aligners straighten teeth just like braces do – only without the need for metal brackets and wires.
They work by gently applying controlled pressure to your teeth in specific areas of your mouth during different parts of your treatment.
Clear aligner treatment can be ideal for many children, teens and adults who want a lower-profile option that also offers the aesthetics and convenience of removable aligners.
Because they are transparent, clear aligners have a discreet appearance. They are also removable, allowing you to enjoy all of your favourite foods and easily brush, floss, and maintain your oral health just as you normally would.
Flexible In-House Payment Plans
At Braced in BC, we believe that finances should never prevent you from seeking dental care. To help patients manage the cost of orthodontic treatment, we offer zero-interest payment plans and low and no down payment options.

Features of Treatment with Clear Aligners
Clear aligners, available at Braced in BC, offer many great features that can help make your orthodontic treatment go more smoothly.

Smooth Construction
Clear aligners are made entirely of smooth material, meaning less irritation or discomfort, which can sometimes occur with metal wires or brackets.
Clear aligners are made with USP Class VI medical-grade, high-molecular-weight polyurethane resins that are BPA-free.
Low-Profile Aesthetics
For patients who are looking for minimal impact on their appearance, clear aligners may be the ideal solution.
Clear aligners are made of a clear, lightweight material and are nearly invisible when worn. The casual observer might not even notice that you're wearing them!

Removable Aligners
Clear aligners are removed before eating meals and snacks, allowing you to eat all of your favourite foods without restrictions.
You can also remove the aligners to brush and floss your teeth, so you can continue to care for your smile as usual.

No Adjustment Appointments Required
Clear aligners don't need to be adjusted like braces do. You will, however, need to switch from one set of aligners to the next in the series as prescribed by your orthodontist.
Occasional checkups will still be needed to assess your progress, but you'll save time on those adjustment appointments!
Digital Impressions with iTero™
Our orthodontists use the iTero 3D scanner to take digital impressions of your smile and show you your projected results while planning for clear aligner treatment.
iTero impressions are minimally intrusive and do not require any goopy impression material like traditional physical impressions do.

The Clear Aligner Treatment Process
Curious about how it all works? Below, you can learn what to expect during your clear aligner treatment.
Initial Consultation
At your initial consultation, your orthodontist will conduct an examination and imaging to diagnose your orthodontic condition and create a custom treatment plan tailored specifically for you. Your orthodontist will also address any questions or concerns you may have regarding the practical and financial aspects of your clear aligner treatment.
The Treatment Plan
Based on the findings from your exam and your digital scan, your orthodontist will develop a comprehensive clear aligner treatment plan that outlines the exact movements of your teeth at each stage, along with the estimated duration of your treatment. With reference to this plan and your digital impressions, your clear aligners will be made at a lab using 3D printing technology.
Wearing Your Aligners
Throughout your treatment, you will wear your aligners daily, only removing them for about two hours each day to eat or to brush and floss your teeth. Approximately every two weeks, you will transition from one aligner to the next in the series. Gradually, you'll see your new smile in real-time as your teeth shift into their prescribed positions.
Appointments With Us
You'll visit our office periodically for checkups throughout your clear aligner treatment. During these appointments, your orthodontist will assess your progress and make adjustments to your treatment plan as needed. Please also feel free to use these appointments to ask us any questions you may have about your clear aligner treatment.
Enjoy & Maintain
You have made it to the end of your orthodontic treatment. You can now show off your new, straighter smile. At your final clear aligner appointment with your orthodontist, we'll review your results. Your orthodontist will prescribe retainers to maintain your teeth in their current positions.

How do clear aligners work?
For your treatment, you will receive a series of custom-made clear plastic aligners.
Each aligner in the series is designed to move specific teeth in tiny increments. You will wear each aligner for about two weeks (or as prescribed by your orthodontist) before replacing it with the next one in the series, which will pick up where the last one left off.
This process will continue until your teeth are in their prescribed, corrected positions.
-
How much do clear aligners cost?
The cost of clear aligner orthodontic treatment can vary based on the severity of your misalignment and the number of aligner sets required to correct it. The more severe or complex your misalignment is, the greater the number of aligners needed, and consequently, the higher your treatment costs will be.
Concerns about cost are completely understandable. We offer low down payment and no-interest payment plans to help make orthodontic treatment affordable for all our patients.

How many sets of aligners will I need?
Your smile is unique, and so your treatment plan will be as well. The number of sets of aligners you will need to straighten your smile will depend on the nature and severity of your misalignment. Your orthodontist will be able to provide you with an accurate estimate of how long your treatment will last during your initial consultation.
-
How long does clear aligner treatment take?
The length of your clear aligner treatment will depend on several factors, including the severity of the misalignment of your teeth and jaws. This determines the amount of movement that will be required to correct the problem and how many aligners you will need to go through to accomplish this. As a result, clear aligner treatment takes longer for some patients than others.
-
What are clear aligners made of?
Clear aligners are made with USP Class VI medical-grade, high-molecular-weight, BPA-free polyurethane resins.
-
Can adults use clear aligners?
Definitely! If you have healthy teeth and gums, then you may be a candidate, regardless of your age. There is no upper age limit for clear aligner treatment.
In fact, many adults are opting to undergo orthodontic treatment with clear aligners because of their discreet look and the convenience of being able to remove them to eat and to brush and floss.
-
Can teenagers use clear aligners?
Yes! Many teens are great candidates for clear aligners. In fact, there are clear aligners that are designed to meet the unique needs of teenagers.
Clear Aligners for Teen include compliance indicators (blue dots that fade after two weeks of consistent wear) to help teens track their treatment and when to change aligners.
They also come with eruption tabs for tweens and younger teens whose adult teeth are still in the process of growing in. These provide space for second molars and prevent them from growing crooked.
-
How will clear aligners fit my lifestyle?
While wearing clear aligners may take some getting used to at first, we believe you will find that they fit very comfortably into your daily routines.
Clear aligners are made of lightweight, clear plastic, which means they are nearly invisible when worn, and most people will not even know you are undergoing orthodontic treatment.
Since clear aligners can be removed whenever you eat, drink, brush, or floss, there are no dietary restrictions associated with their use, allowing you to maintain your regular oral hygiene routine.
-
How often do I have to visit the orthodontist with clear aligners?
We typically schedule quick checkups every 12 weeks or so throughout clear aligner treatment. These appointments allow your orthodontist to assess your progress. If any refinements or adjustments are needed for your treatment, they may require some extra visits.
One benefit of clear aligners is that they don't require any adjustments or tightening – you just switch to the next set of aligners as prescribed by your orthodontist – so you won't need to visit us for these types of appointments during your treatment.
-
How often do I have to change my clear aligners?
At the beginning of your treatment, your orthodontist will provide you with the schedule to follow, including how often to switch out your aligners. The frequency varies a bit among patients, but it's normally every two weeks or so.
-
Are there any food or drink restrictions?
Throughout your clear aligner treatment, you will take out your aligners to eat, so there aren't any dietary restrictions with clear aligners.
We recommend taking your aligners out to drink beverages other than water (pop, coffee, juice, etc.) to avoid staining and so that sugars and acids don't get trapped between the aligners and your teeth.
-
How do I clean my aligners?
There are a few different steps involved in keeping your clear aligners clean, but overall, it's pretty simple.
Each time you take your aligners out of your mouth, rinse them to wash away dry saliva and plaque that may be beginning to develop.
It is also recommended to brush your teeth after each meal before putting your aligners back in. This prevents food and other debris from getting trapped between your teeth and the aligners, leading to bad breath, cavities, and gum disease.
Clean your aligners daily with a soft toothbrush and clear anti-bacterial soap or toothpaste. Brush gently to avoid scratching. Rinse thoroughly with cool water, and you're done!
-
How do I store my aligners?
Whenever they aren't in your mouth, or soaking in cleaning solution, store your clear aligners in the case they came with. This will keep them clean and prevent damage until you are ready to put them back in.
-
Can I play sports with clear aligners?
You can easily take out your aligners, allowing you to continue with activities like playing sports even while you go through orthodontic treatment.
However, keep in mind that in order to keep treatment on track, clear aligners must be kept in for a minimum of 22 hours a day (or as prescribed by your orthodontist), so plan your time carefully.
It's essential to invest in a sports mouth guard to protect your teeth during orthodontic treatment in general. Orthodontic treatment causes your teeth to loosen slightly as they shift into their new positions, and this can make them more susceptible to damage than they normally are.
-
Can I play my woodwind or brass instrument with clear aligners?
Absolutely! Just take your aligners out and store them in their case while you play. After you finish, you can just pop them back in.
Keep in mind that you must keep your clear aligners in for about 22 hours a day (or as prescribed by your orthodontist), so be sure to plan your practice time carefully.
