Dr. Edwin Yen, DMD, MSc., FRCDC
Dr. Edwin Yen has played a key role in developing and implementing a hybrid problem-based learning curriculum at the University of British Columbia for the school’s 4-year predoctoral dental program. In this model, the first two years are integrated with the medical school, while the final two years emphasize interdisciplinary learning and patient care.
His research interests continue to be in the area of connective tissue response to orthodontic and physiological force systems. He lectures internationally in the area of biology of Orthodontics.
Dr. Yen and his wife, Patti, a former primary school teacher, have one son (a high school teacher) and one daughter (an orthodontist). His family interests include skiing, golf and music.
